Rangers Designate Khris Davis For Assignment
4 years agoThe Texas Rangers designated outfielder/designated hitter Khris Davis for assignment on Tuesday after he hit .157 with two home runs and five RBI in 22 games in his first season with the team. The 33-year-old slugger led the American League with 48 home runs in 2018 when he was with the Oakland Athletics, but the Rangers want to get a look at some of their younger players the rest of the way. Davis hit 42 or more home runs and had 102-plus RBI in three straight seasons, but he's fallen far since then. Infielder/outfielder Eli White was called up from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move. White hit .343 and started at five different positions in 20 games in the minors, but he hit just .127 over 22 big league games earlier this year before he was optioned. Fantasy managers can drop Davis, if they haven't already.
