Jose Cisnero Earns Save With Fulmer Unavailable
3 years agoDetroit Tigers relief pitcher Jose Cisnero closed out Saturday's 4-3 win over the Chicago White Sox to earn his first save of the year. He pitched a perfect ninth inning, allowing no hits or walks while striking out one. The team's primary closer Michael Fulmer was unavailable for the game due to fatigue. However, it was interesting to see manager A.J. Hinch go with Cisnero over Gregory Soto in the ninth inning. Soto, who has five saves on the year, pitched the eighth inning. Soto should still be seen as the next man up behind Fulmer, but Cisnero has now entered the picture as someone to keep an eye on.
