Austin Gomber Notches A Quality Start On Thursday
4 years agoColorado Rockies left-hander Austin Gomber earned the win on Thursday when he allowed three hits, no runs, and struck out six over six innings in an 11-6 win over the Rangers. Gomber looked great in his start against Texas, limiting them to just three hits, all singles, over his six innings of work. Most importantly, he didn't issue a walk. He's really got a handle on his control after walking 19 batters in five starts in April, he's only issued four free passes over his last seven. Surprisingly, he's registered a 1.33 ERA (four starts) at home and a 5.44 ERA (eight starts) on the road. Overall, he has a 4.12 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and 66:23 K/BB ratio over 63 1/3 innings (12 starts). His bizarre splits still make him hard to trust for fantasy purposes so he can be left on the waiver wire for the next turn against the Marlins in Miami.
