D.J. Chark 2021 Player Outlook: QB Upgrade Points to Bounce Back Season
4 years agoJacksonville Jaguars' wide receiver D.J. Chark looked poised to enter the conversation as one of the best young wideouts in the game following a breakout 2019 season after a quiet, injured riddled rookie campaign in 2018. Chark had finished the year with 1,008 yards and eight touchdowns despite receiving passes from quarterbacks Gardner Minshew and Nick Foles. In 2020, due to injuries, regression, and a revolving door at quarterback, Chark just couldn't capture that magic again and finished the year with 53 receptions for 706 yards and five scores. In 2021, Chark is primed for a bounceback season with new head coach Urban Meyer and quarterback Trevor Lawrence in place. Chark figures to be the top receiving option in a spread-out system that can get him in space and put his 4.34 speed to good use. Chark was WR17 in 2019 before slipping to WR49 last year. As long as he stays healthy, there is a clear path to volume and a top 24 finish in 2021.
