Matthew Boyd Allows Four Runs, Suffers Sixth Loss
4 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Matthew Boyd was tagged with his sixth loss of the year as the Tigers fell 5-2 to Shane Bieber and the Cleveland Indians on Thursday. Boyd pitched five innings and allowed six hits, two walks and four earned runs while striking out five. Boyd has now allowed at least four earned runs in each of his last three starts. He has a 5.32 ERA in May after posting a stellar 2.27 ERA in April. He is still worthy of roster consideration in deep leagues and AL-only leagues, but he can be left on waivers in all shallow leagues. His next start will be on Tuesday against the Milwaukee Brewers.
