Gary Sanchez Hits Long Home Run Thursday
3 years agoNew York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez blasted a long home run in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. Sanchez gave the Yankees the lead in the fourth inning with a no-doubt home run to dead center field after an eight-pitch battle with Blue Jays' starter Robbie Ray. The blast traveled 444 feet at an exit velocity of 108.5 MPH. It wasn't his only hard-hit ball of the night, as he later ripped a 107.3 MPH single. Sanchez has been a more disciplined at-bat at the plate this season, and his expected wOBA suggests his offensive production should be better than it is. While he'll likely never be a plus in the batting average category, fantasy managers should expect strong home run numbers out of Sanchez down the stretch.
