4 years agoTampa Bay Rays first baseman Yandy Diaz is out of the starting lineup for Thursday's game against right-hander Brady Singer and the Kansas City Royals. Ji-Man Choi is getting the start at first base and batting third in the game. Diaz and Choi are in the midst of a bit of a platoon right now. The fact that Choi hits righties better than Diaz, could lead to Choi earning the bulk of the starts going forward, though Diaz can also play third base and be used as the team's designated hitter. Diaz has slashed .253/.379/.296 this year. He has seven doubles, but is still searching for his first home run.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
