Billy McKinney Set To Have Big Role With Mets
4 years agoThe New York Mets acquired outfielder Billy McKinney in a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday and he figures to play a big role for the team at least in the short-term. McKinney is slotted in as the team's cleanup hitter for his Mets debut in Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader against the Colorado Rockies. On Wednesday, McKinney told the media "I know the goal here is to win and that is the absolute first here, so I'm excited." The Mets traded relief pitcher Pedro Quintana in exchange for McKinney, who slashed .207/.260/.359 with three home runs, six RBI and nine runs over 40 games with the Brewers this year. McKinney is certainly worth keeping an eye on for fantasy managers in deep leagues and five-outfielder leagues.
