Gregory Soto Earns His Fifth Save On Wednesday
4 years agoDetroit Tigers relief pitcher Gregory Soto picked up his fifth save of the year in the team's 1-0 win over the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday. He pitched a scoreless ninth inning, allowing one walk and no hits while striking out one. Michael Fulmer, who has been the team's primary closer of late, entered the game when it was tied 0-0 in the top of the eighth. The Tigers scored in the bottom of the inning and Fulmer went on to earn the win. Fulmer has four saves and one blown save this month while Soto only has two saves this month to go along with three holds. Fulmer is still the primary closer on the team for now while Soto is next in line.
