Billy McKinney Batting Cleanup In Mets Debut
4 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Billy McKinney will bat cleanup in his debut with the team against the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday. McKinney was acquired in a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday. The Mets sent left-handed pitcher Pedro Quintana to Milwaukee in exchange for McKinney. Over 40 games with the Brewers this year, McKinney slashed .207/.260/.359 with three home runs, six RBI and nine runs. The injury-riddled Mets are very much in need of a healthy outfielder right now. McKinney should see semi-regular playing time at least in the short-term. The fact that he's slotting in as the cleanup hitter in his first game is an encouraging development. He's worth monitoring for fantasy managers in deep leagues and NL-only leagues.
