Brad Keller Shines Against Rays On Tuesday
4 years agoKansas City Royals starting pitcher Brad Keller had his best and longest start of the 2021 season on Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Rays. Keller pitched seven innings and allowed four hits, four walks and one earned run while matching a season-high with seven strikeouts. Keller had an abysmal April, posting a 9.00 ERA over five starts. Fortunately, he's started to come around a bit in May. He has a 3.58 ERA over five starts this month. He hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in any of his May starts. Keller's lack of strikeout potential (18.5% strikeout rate) limits his fantasy upside, but he's worth monitoring for deep league managers as he can give teams a boost in ERA and WHIP when he's on. His next start will be on Sunday against the Minnesota Twins.
