Matthew Stafford's Thumb Isn't An Issue
4 years agoLos Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford (thumb) said that offseason thumb surgery hasn't kept him from taking part in his first offseason workouts with the Rams. Stafford played through a torn ligament in his right thumb in the second half of last year while throwing for 4,084 yards and 26 touchdowns in his last season with the Detroit Lions. Despite also suffering injuries to his ribs, left knee and right ankle, he started in all 16 games for the ninth time in 10 seasons. Stafford is in the process of learning his new offense and gaining chemistry with wide receivers Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp and DeSean Jackson. The 33-year-old has plenty of upside as a low-end QB1/high-end QB2 in a much better offense in LA.
