Freddie Freeman Goes 0-For-4 On Sunday
4 years agoAtlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman struggled at the plate in Sunday's 7-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. He went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts, putting an end to a five-game hitting streak. Freeman has 12 home runs this year, which is tied for ninth-most in the Majors, but many of his surface numbers this year don't look Freeman-esque. He has a .235/.360/.471 slash line, a big drop-off from last year when he slashed .341/.462/.640. Fortunately, his underlying stats mostly look reminiscent of the Freeman we're used to. He ranks in the 95th percentile in xSLG (.592) and in the 88th percentile in hard-hit rate (50.7%). He has an xBA of .296 so fantasy managers can expect his batting average to increase going forward.
