4 years agoMiami Dolphins running back Myles Gaskin rose from the bottom of the depth chart last year to win a starting job, and it's looking like the lead-back role in 2021 is his to lose. Gaskin dealt with injuries and COVID-19, but when he was on the field, he was effective in the run game, passing game and protection game. Staying healthy might be his biggest challenge to keeping the starting gig moving forward. Miami signed Malcolm Brown and Jordan Scarlett and drafted Gerrid Doaks in the seventh round, so Gaskin seems to be the likely starter when training camp begins. While it's unclear if Gaskin will be the primary back in this offense, he should at least compete with Salvon Ahmed for the vast majority of backfield touches.
