DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (5/15/21): MLB DFS Lineups

10 of the 15 games are on the main slate on DraftKings today. Pitching is a little thing. There's more quantity than quality, but we'll find some good places for you to build around. Pitching isn't as bad as it looks at first glance.

Rain could be a problem in a couple of spots. They can close the roof in Milwaukee, but it could be wet in Chicago and in Denver. They should be able to get the game in Coors in. My best guess is a late start. The best hitting weather is once again in Phoenix with the wind blowing out to right and temperatures in the 90s. The wind is also blowing heavily out to right in Dunedin and it's warm and humid. There could be a lot of offense in that game.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Trevor Bauer - LAD vs. MIA ($11,000)

Bauer has dominated in his first two starts at Dodger Stadium, giving up just six hits and two runs, both on solo homers, in 13 innings. The 18 strikeouts are everything we would expect from Bauer as well. The Marlins are hitting 20 points lower on the road, don't hit for a lot of power, and strike out a lot. This is exactly what we are looking for in a target for our pitchers.

Carlos Rodon - CWS vs. KC ($10,000)

Rodon has already faced the Royals once this year. He shut them out for six innings while striking out either. Rodon has a microscopic 0.36 ERA and 0.72 WHIP. You need a microscope to see his metrics. On top of that, the Royals have just six homers against lefties this year. They have lost 12 of 14 games this month and only scored five runs or more in three of those. This is a team in a tailspin right now. If the White Sox say Rodon is good to go, I trust them. This is a perfect matchup for him.

Other Options: Ian Anderson ($9,200), Domingo German ($7,900). Justus Sheffield ($6,600)

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Carson Kelly - C, ARI vs. WAS ($4,900)

This is a pretty penny for Kelly, but I mentioned that this is the best hitting weather on the slate. Joe Ross has given up seven homers in his last four starts. His fly ball percentage is nearly 50%, which is really bad news when you're pitching in a place like Chase Field. Kelly is hitting a robust .414 at home this year with just three strikeouts. He's putting balls in play and they are finding holes.

Rhys Hoskins - 1B, PHI at Dunedin ($4,700)

Hoskins homered last night in Dunedin. It is a minor league park, after all. Today he gets the young lefty Anthony Kay. The 10.24 ERA is not a fluke and not an accident. Kay is not missing bats at all. The Phillies were one of my favorite stacks last night and they will be here. Hoskins doesn't have egregious splits in his career, but he does hit lefties better and has a lot more power against lefties. This is another superb spot for Hoskins.

Gavin Lux - 2B, LAD vs. MIA ($3,700)

I know those of you who prospect watch have been waiting on this for a while. Lux hit his first homer of the season last night. His numbers on the season are uninspiring, but Lux is hitting .333 over the last ten days. He has five hits in the last three games. We don't care much for season-long stats in DFS. We need to identify guys on hot streaks. Lux is on a heater right now and Jordan Holloway struggled his last time out.

Austin Riley - 3B, ATL at MIL ($4,000)

Riley is struggling a bit, but he averages a homer every 14.7 at bats against left handed pitchers. Brett Anderson is a veteran junkballer who is successful when he keeps the ball on the ground. Reports say that Anderson is still on a pitch count, but Riley on a discount against at least one lefty isn't a terrible idea, especially with the roof closed.

Trea Turner - SS, WAS at ARI ($5,900)

Washington scored two touchdowns and a field goal last night against this struggling pitching staff. Turner put up 23 DraftKings points in that one, and it's really nothing new. Three of his nine homers have come against Arizona pitching in just five games this year. He is destroying Arizona pitching in all shapes and sizes. Shortstop is a mess if you don't pay up tonight. I know, this is a position where we all want to save money, but it's not worth it tonight. Pay up and enjoy the dividends.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Jesse Winker - OF, CIN at COL ($6,000)

Winker is hitting a robust .386 on the road with five of his seven homers away from Great American Small Park. Ironic, huh? He is perched atop a potent lineup in the best hitter's park this side of the Eastern Hemisphere. Winker has not been held scoreless on DraftKings since April 28. Yeah, he's worth the money. Especially against the corpse of Jhoulys Chacin.

Franmil Reyes - OF, CLE at SEA ($4,200)

Reyes destroys left-handed pitching. He always has. I am on the fence about Justus Sheffield. He still walks too many batters and induces a lot of fly balls. He can get away with that at home most of the time. However, Franimal is a career .289 hitter against southpaws with a homer every 18 at bats. Sheffield has limited the long balls this year compared to his career numbers, but five starts isn't enough to sway me from what I've seen before, especially with opponents still getting their fair share of fly balls off of him.

Kyle Schwarber - OF, WAS at ARI ($3,600)

Schwarber got off to a slow start in Washington, but he has heated up lately. That might have something to do with him facing Arizona five times in the last fortnight. Schwarber is hitting .263 with three homers and nine RBi in the last ten days and averages nearly 12 DraftKings points per game against the Diamondbacks. Only two of those games were in Chase Field. Schwarber beat the tar out of them in Washington too.
