Chi Chi Gonzalez Quiets The Reds Over Seven Innings
4 years agoColorado Rockies right-hander Chi Chi Gonzalez earned his second win of the season on Thursday when he surrendered just four hits with one walk and two strikeouts over his seven innings of work. This was Gonzalez's finest start of the season as he held down the powerful Cincinnati offense despite only striking out two batters. The Rockies pounded Luis Castillo on the other side and spotted Gonzalez 10 runs through six innings. The stellar effort lowered the 29-year-old's season ERA to 4.79 to go along with a 1.40 WHIP and 17:11 K/BB ratio over 35 2/3 innings. He draws the Padres on the road in his next start but isn't a recommended fantasy option in that one.
