Juan Soto Off To Slow Start After Return
4 years agoWashington Nationals outfielder Juan Soto went 0-for-3 in three games against the Atlanta Braves after being activated from the 10-day injured list last Tuesday because of a left shoulder strain. Soto hit a home run on Friday against the New York Yankees as the designated hitter and finished 2-for-5 with two strikeouts. He went hitless on Saturday and Sunday but didn't strike out and said that his swing is in a good place. Soto is hitting .262 on the season after the 2-for-15 stretch since his return from the IL. His expected batting average from Tuesday through Sunday was .310, though. He also had a .333 slugging percentage during that stretch and returned to the outfield on Saturday. The 22-year-old left-handed slugger will be just fine as long as he continues to hit the ball hard consistently.
