Shane McClanahan Strikes Out Five Over Four Innings
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Shane McClanahan struck out five batters in four innings of work in a 4-3 win over the Athletics on Sunday. In his first three career starts, McClanahan has pitched exactly four innings with five strikeouts while allowing three or fewer runs. McClanahan has yet to earn a decision this year, but he has a 3.75 ERA with 15 strikeouts and four walks in 12 innings of work. While it's not the most ideal performance that managers have hoped for, it looks like McClanahan should be able to start racking up wins in the near future if he continues to pitch like this. He'll look to build off of Sunday's performance in his next start, which will come at home against the Mets.
