Kike Hernandez Leaves Thursday's Game With Leg Injury
4 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Kike Hernandez (leg) injured his leg while sliding into second base for a double to lead off Thursday's game against the Detroit Tigers. He initially stayed in the game, but after he reached third base, he was removed from the game and Franchy Cordero entered as a pinch-runner. Hernandez is off to a solid start to his first year with the Red Sox. He has been their primary leadoff hitter. Through 29 games, he's slashed .232/.293/.411 with four home runs, 10 RBI and 19 runs. We should know more about the severity of the injury soon.
