4 years agoAtlanta Braves catcher William Contreras had a strong game at the plate in Wednesday's win over the Washington Nationals. He went 2-for-4 in the game and hit his first career home run. He scored a total of two runs in the game. Contreras was called up this weekend after Travis d'Arnaud (thumb) was placed on the 60-day injured list. This is his second tour in the Majors as he played in four games for the Braves last year. Contreras has started each of the last three games for the Braves and has at least one hit in all three. It looks like he will be the team's primary catcher while d'Arnaud is sidelined. Alex Jackson figures to be his backup. Contreras showed solid power potential and strong plate discipline in the minors. He's someone who should be rostered in all two-catcher leagues and he's worth a look in all deep leagues as well.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
