4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals outfielder Dylan Carlson (shin) was removed from Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the New York Mets after fouling a ball off of his shin. The Cardinals are describing the injury as a right shin contusion. Carlson was not in the starting lineup for Game 2 of the doubleheader, but he did enter as a pinch-hitter and went on to single in a run. The fact that Carlson was able to pinch-hit in Game 2 is certainly a good sign, but the Cardinals may still choose to be cautious and hold him out of Thursday's game.
