Max Muncy In The Midst Of A Slump
4 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy has been cold at the plate over the past few weeks. He has just one hit over his past 22 at-bats. However, he does have 14 walks over that stretch. He hasn't recorded an extra-base hit since April 15, when he hit his third home run of the year. Muncy hasn't been making the same hard contact we're used to seeing from him. His hard-hit rate is down from 40% last year to 32.2% so far this year. He has also seen dips in his average launch angle (14.2 degrees last year, 8.5 degrees this year) and in his average exit velocity (88.5 mph last year, 86.8 mph this year). Fantasy managers with Muncy on their roster should remain patient. The plate discipline is as good as it's ever been. Hopefully, the power numbers will come around soon.
