Jon Lester Getting Close To A Return?
4 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Jon Lester threw 90 pitches over six innings on Sunday in a simulated game and was scheduled to throw a light bullpen session on Tuesday. Manager Dave Martinez, general manager Mike Rizzo and Lester will meet with pitching coach Jim Hickey to establish a plan for his next throwing session, including whether it will be for Washington or at the team's alternate training site in Fredericksburg. The veteran left-hander has been on the COVID-19 injured list since April 6. The 37-year-old has yet to make his season debut with the Nationals, but it looks as though he's getting closer to making that happen. Whenever he does join the team's starting rotation, Lester will be a matchup-based streamer in mixed leagues and DFS.
