Gregory Soto Earns His Third Save On Tuesday
4 years agoDetroit Tigers relief pitcher Gregory Soto pitched a flawless ninth inning in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Chicago White Sox to earn his third save of the year. Soto needed just 13 pitches to get through the inning, allowing no hits or walks and without recording a strikeout. Soto has earned the last two saves for the Tigers. Bryan Garcia, the only other Tiger with a save, earned his second of two saves on April 14. Soto appears to be the frontrunner for saves in Detroit, but he may not get much more than one or two opportunities per week given the likelihood of the Tigers hovering around the bottom of the American League standings.
