Welcome to the RotoBaller NBA Recap. In this feature, we will highlight a few key fantasy basketball takeaways from the games played during last night's slate. These viewpoints can be both positive and negative and will hopefully help to provide insight into different roster moves you should consider making based on trends and statistical nuggets from around the Association.
Fantasy basketball has a lot of moving pieces with all the different scoring settings that are possible to play under, so I will always do my best to spotlight where players gain or lose value in certain game types. For the sake of simplicity and consistency, every time I mention Fantasy Points in these articles I will be using DraftKings' scoring system, which goes as follows: 1*PTS, 0.5*3PM, 1.25*RBD, 1.5*AST, 2*STL, 2*BLK, -0.5*TO. On top of that, bonus points are awarded for Double-Doubles (+1.5) and Triple-Doubles (+3), only one per player at a time.
Without further ado, let's get right into the latest slate of games from the 2021 season and try to figure out how to take advantage of what we saw transpire.

Dallas demolishes Golden State while going on a 28-0 scoring run in 1sth half; Boston lets one slip against the Tanking Thunder
Not the best of days for Warriors fans out there, who took on Twitter to show their displeasure with the stupid play of their team on Tuesday. They had their reasons, though, as there was a span in the first half of yesterday's affair in which GSW was so inoperative that they were mollywhopped to the tune of a 28-nil run. No wonder how the game finished after such a trouncing...
Moving East, Boston was horrid in facing a Thunder squad that is levels below the Celtics' yet was able to snatch the W from the Beantowners. Boston looked good not long ago after starting the season in shaky ways, but they are back to those bouncy results and fighting to avoid the play-in with just 10 games to go and a 32-10 record that is the same as no. 7 Miami currently holds.
- Even in loss, Jaylen Brown was the best fantasy player of the slate with 67 FP translated from a great 39-11-3-4 line in a game in which he shot exactly 50% from the floor on a slate-leading 26 FGA. The Celtics surely missed Jayson Tatum, although Payton Pritchard leveled up a ton and finished with the second-best off-the-pine performance from Tuesday with a 28-3-4-1 line.
- The best reserve, though? Anfernee Simons with his 46 FP in just 24 minutes against Indy. Simons hit 9 (!!!) treys on the night reaching 27 total points and adding 4 boards, 4 dimes, and 2 steals to that. Not bad for the kid.
- Another day, another surprisingly good (?) performance by Pacers' Oshae Brissett. It's getting to a point where this kid is just a great player/play, full stop, no surprises anymore. Brissett logged 40 minutes (!) and he put up an 18-10-1-2-5 stuffed line hitting 4 treys on top of that. Somehow, Brissett is rostered in only 32% of Yahoo leagues, so there is still a chance you can get him for free for the home stretch.
- Night to forget for the Warriors, surely, but not for Mychal Mulder personally. He started at SG, played 31 minutes, and was able to finish with 26 pops and 5 boards including 6 treys and turning the ball over just once. On the other end of the spectrum? Kelly Oubre Jr., who came off the pine, played 23 minutes... and finished a ridiculous -41 plus/minus!
- While LaMelo Ball could return at the end of this week, Gordon Hayward most definitely won't return this week. He's still on a walking boot and there is no chance for such an early comeback. Another looming return--though this would come further down the road and already into the postseason--is that of Spencer Dinwiddie, who seems to be ahead of his recovery schedule. We'll see how that ends.
- Watch out for potential missed games by Mike Conley (hamstring), Collin Sexton (head), and Kristaps Porzingis (ankle) going forward and what that might mean for those backing them up. If they are gone for a couple of games or three, that would mean the likes of Garland, Ingles/Clarkson, and Kleber/Powell/Cauley-Stein respectively might get ample opportunities.
