Claude Giroux Scores Two Goals In 22 Seconds
4 years agoPhiladelphia Flyers forward Claude Giroux came up with two big goals in 22 seconds to help the team beat New Jersey on Sunday 4-3 in a shootout. The Flyers were down 3-1 heading into the final minute and a half in regulation when their captain popped up with two quick goals. He scored the fastest two goals for Philadelphia since Jaromir Jagr potted a pair in 18 seconds in February 2012. James van Riemsdyk and Jakub Voracek helped Giroux on the rescue mission, registering two assists each. The veteran forward ended an 11-game goalless run. He now has 13 goals and 35 points for the year in 46 outings. This was the first of four straight games the Flyers will play against the struggling Devils, so fantasy managers can expect a nice offensive burst by Giroux.
