Matthew Boyd Tagged With Tough Loss Against Royals
4 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Matthew Boyd had a strong outing against the Kansas City Royals on Saturday, but unfortunately he wasn't given any run support and earned his second loss on the year. Boyd pitched eight innings and allowed three hits, no walks and two runs (one earned), while striking out three. The Tigers lost the game 2-1 as Boyd was slightly out-dueled by Royals' starter Brady Singer. Boyd is off to a phenomenal start to the year. He has a 1.82 ERA and 0.84 WHIP through five starts, four of which have been quality starts. He needs to be rostered in all leagues as he has been one of the league's best bounce-back players so far this year after a rough 2020 season. His next start will be on Thursday against the Chicago White Sox.
