JaCoby Jones Launches First Home Run Of 2021
4 years agoDetroit Tigers outfielder JaCoby Jones has been ice cold to start the 2021 season, but he had a strong day at the plate in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Jones went 2-for-4 in the game and hit a solo home run, his first home run of the year. The home run also marked Jones' first extra-base hit and first RBI since Opening Day, despite seeing a good amount of action in the early going this year. Jones is slashing .176/.200/.294 through 12 games on the year, a major decrease from last year's solid slash line of .268/.333/.515. The Tigers have a bit more outfield depth this year than they did last year. Jones is going to struggle to find consistent playing time, especially while he's slumping at the plate.
