Matt Shoemaker Allows Five Runs In Loss
4 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Matt Shoemaker had a rough outing in Tuesday's 7-0 loss to the Athletics. Shoemaker lasted just 3 1/3 innings, allowing five runs on four hits with four walks compared to two strikeouts. The veteran hurler worked a scoreless first inning but ran into trouble in the second and fourth frames in the form of Mitch Moreland, who homered off of him twice. Shoemaker didn't have his best stuff, but he also didn't get much help from his defense. He'll look to give the Twins more length in his next start, scheduled for April 26 against the Indians.
