Ian Anderson Allowing Too Much Hard Contact Early On
4 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Ian Anderson has been hit hard over his first three starts of the 2021 season. Through 15.1 innings, he's allowed 15 hits and eight earned runs, including three home runs. He has a 4.70 ERA and a 5.87 xERA. Over Anderson's six starts as a rookie in 2020, he did a great job limiting hard contact. He allowed a barrel rate of 1.2% and a hard-hit rate of 32.1%. So far this year, those rates are up to 12.2% and 46.3%, respectively. Hopefully, Anderson can start putting things together soon. His next start will be against the New York Yankees on Wednesday.
