4 years agoKansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez helped carry the team's offense in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Toronto Blue Jays. Perez went 2-for-4 in the game and hit his fourth home run of the year. He's now slashing .300/.352/.600 through 13 games on the year. Perez posted a career-best barrel rate of 13.9% last year, but so far this year, he's increased that rate to 14.3%. His strikeout rate this year (27.8%) is up from last year (23.1%), but his walk rate this year (5.6%) is up from last year (1.9%) as well. Perez is simply one of the best hitting and overall catchers in the league and should be one of the top fantasy catchers as long as he remains healthy.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
