4 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani (finger) threw another bullpen session on Wednesday, and manager Joe Maddon said that he believes Ohtani threw the bullpen without a bandage on his blistered finger. The Angels are being cautious with their two-way star, and Ohtani is unlikely to return to the rotation this week. But his latest bullpen on Wednesday was a step in the right direction, and he should be back on the mound sometime next week, barring a setback. In his lone start in 2021, Ohtani allowed three runs (one earned) and two hits while walking five and striking out seven in 4 2/3 innings against the Chicago White Sox. The Japanese product will continue his designated hitter duties in the meantime.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
