Clarke Schmidt Could Start Throwing In A Week
4 years agoNew York Yankees pitcher Clarke Schmidt (elbow) received a second opinion on his flexor tendon strain. He received a cortisone shot. If he takes to the shot well, he will be able to start throwing later this week or early next week. The 25-year-old is one of the team's top pitching prospects. The Yankees could utilize him in long relief or as even as a starter at some point this year depending on his progress. He made three appearances, including one start, for the Yankees last year and struggled, posting a 7.11 ERA and 1.895 WHIP.
