4 years agoHouston Astros designated hitter Yordan Alvarez has compiled six extra-base hits through nine games this year. He has four doubles and two home runs and has compiled eight RBI and six runs. He's slashing .289/.317/.553. Alvarez barely saw the field in 2020 due to a COVID setback and surgery on both of his knees. That led to a discounted draft stock for 2021 and fantasy managers who jumped on his value seem to be reaping the rewards. He's registered barrels on five of his 27 batted balls (18.5%) and he has a max exit velocity of 114.3 mph, which ranks amongst the top 3% of the league.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
