Clayton Kershaw Pitches Six Scoreless Innings On Sunday
4 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw out-dueled fellow ace Max Scherzer in the Dodgers' 3-0 win over the Washington Nationals on Sunday. Kershaw pitched six innings and allowed five hits, no walks and no runs while striking out six. He earned the win and improved to 2-1 on the young season. Kershaw has led with his slider so far this year, throwing it 47.2% of the time, up from 39.9% last year. He's gotten great results from it as it's generated a put-away percentage of 38.7%, up from 22.7% in 2020. He's been nothing short of an ace through the early going this year. He'll look to stay hot in his next start against the San Diego Padres on Saturday.
