BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 46% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Detroit Tigers rookie outfielder Akil Baddoo has cooled off since his scorching, headline-dominating start to his career, but he appears to have earned himself the starting left field job for the team. He started each of the team's three games from Wednesday through Saturday while fellow outfielders JaCoby Jones and Victor Reyes rotated in and out of the lineup.
You all surely know the legend of Baddoo by now. He homered on his first Major League pitch last Sunday, then hit a grand slam the next day and followed it up with a pinch-hit, walk-off single on Tuesday. Through six Major League games, Baddoo has gone 5-for-16 with two home runs, seven RBI and two runs. His .502 xwOBA and .595 xwOBACON both rank amongst the top 5% of the league.
The Tigers are right in the thick of rebuild mode and they need to give as much playing time as possible to the young players on their roster who are showing the most promise. Right now, that's Baddoo. Expect to see him in the lineup most games going forward. As a result, he should be able to put up solid home run and RBI totals, even while hitting in the lower-third of the lineup, where he's hit in each of his starts. Add him in leagues of 12 teams or deeper if you need some outfield help. He's also worth consideration in more shallow leagues, especially ones of the five-outfielder variety.
