4 years agoDetroit Tigers shortstop Willi Castro will hit leadoff for the first time this season on Friday against Zach Plesac and the Cleveland Indians. The team's primary leadoff hitter Robbie Grossman is getting the day off. Castro has hit second or third in the lineup in each game before this one. He's off to a somewhat slow start to the year, but he recorded three hits in the team's most recent game against the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday. Castro has only one extra-base hit on the year so far, a triple that came in the team's second game of the year. Castro is one of the top bats in the Tigers' lineup.
