4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals outfielder Austin Dean is drawing his first start of the season on Monday against left-hander Trevor Rogers and the Miami Marlins. He'll bat eighth in the lineup in the game. Justin Williams started in right field for each of the team's three games in their opening series against the Cincinnati Reds. The left-handed Williams is heading to the bench on Monday in favor of the right-handed Dean. The 27-year-old Dean spent his first two seasons with the Miami Marlins before joining the St. Louis Cardinals last year. He's yet to earn regular playing time over his MLB career. Over 102 career MLB games, he has slashed .222/.273/.387 with 10 home runs, 35 RBI and 34 runs.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
