Michael Brantley Sitting On Sunday
4 years agoHouston Astros outfielder Michael Brantley (wrist) will sit out Sunday's game against the Athletics. Brantley is dealing with a sore right wrist after getting hit by a pitch in Saturday's game. Manager Dusty Baker described the ailment as a bone bruise, though he said that he doesn't expect the veteran outfielder to require a stint on the Injured list. Baker mentioned the second game of the Astros' upcoming series against the Angels as a possible return game for Brantley. As for Sunday, outfielder Chas McCormick will take Brantley's place in left field and will bat ninth against left-hander Sean Manaea.
