Teams Inquiring About Giovani Bernard
4 years agoMultiple teams have called to inquire about Cincinnati Bengals running back Giovani Bernard, according to a source. Barring a restructured contract, Bernard could be headed elsewhere this offseason. The 29-year-old has been one of the league's top pass-catching backs. Drafted in the second round in 2013 out of North Carolina, Bernard has been with the Bengals for his entire eight-year career. He's been a consistent contributor in the passing attack, catching at least 30 passes in every season, with a high of 56 in his rookie season. Bernard caught 47 passes on 59 targets for 355 yards and three touchdowns last season while also carrying the ball 124 times for 416 yards and another three scores. He should remain relevant in PPR leagues in 2021, and he could have even more value if he's dealt to another team. Samaje Perine would be more intriguing as Joe Mixon's backup if Bernard is traded out of Cincy.
