Pablo Lopez Likely To Start Second Game Of Opening Series
4 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Pablo Lopez will likely be the Game 2 starter in the opening series with the Tampa Bay Rays, reports William Ladson of MLB.com. Lopez put up solid numbers in 2020, posting a 3.61 ERA and 24.6 percent strikeout rate in 57 1/3 innings. He made two starts against the Rays last year, allowing two runs with five strikeouts over seven innings in his first start, before struggling in his second start where he allowed five runs with six strikeouts in four innings. Despite that rough second outing, managers should start Lopez against the Rays, as he has looked solid this spring with a 2.63 ERA in 13 2/3 innings, and he has high strikeout upside.
