C.J. Cron Makes Rockies' Opening Day Roster
4 years agoColorado Rockies first baseman C.J. Cron will make the Opening Day roster after having his contract purchased by the team on Saturday, reports Thomas Harding of MLB.com. With Brendan Rodgers being sidelined for at least the first month of the season due to a hamstring injury, Cron will take over at first base in Colorado as the team will move Josh Fuentes to third base and Ryan McMahon to second. Despite posting a career-low .190 average in 13 games last season, Cron still managed to hit for power with four home runs and career-highs in ISO (.357) and slugging percentage (.548). He will be a decent source of power at the corner-infield slot late in drafts, as he should be targeted by managers in NL-only and deep-mixed leagues.
