Chris Archer Looks Sharp Again Friday
4 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Chris Archer pitched well in his second appearance of the spring, allowing no baserunners while striking out two in two innings of work against the Red Sox on Friday. Archer has not allowed a man to reach base over 3 1/3 innings this month while striking out three in that span. After missing 2020 following thoracic outlet surgery, Archer looks ready to join the Rays rotation — either as a starter or pitching behind an opener. Obviously there will be some question as to how he'll pitch, given the variance in how pitchers perform upon return from this surgery, but for now he's looking sharp and should be a solid streaming option early on this season.
