Colts Bringing Marlon Mack Back
4 years agoThe Indianapolis Colts are re-signing running back Marlon Mack to a one-year deal worth $2 million on Wednesday, according to a source. Mack suffered a torn Achilles in Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars last year and missed the rest of the season. He was coming off of his first 1,000-yard rushing season in 2019, proving to be a steal as a fourth-round pick by the team in 2017. The 25-year-old isn't much of a pass-catching threat, though, with just 55 career receptions. While he has proven capable of being a bell-cow back in the past, that will not happen in 2021 in Indy with the emergence of Jonathan Taylor last year. Taylor took the No. 1 duties last year and produced 1,468 scrimmage yards and 12 touchdowns on 268 touches. Nyheim Hines figures to remain as the team's third-down back as well, so Mack will be fighting for scraps in his return to Indy.
