Joe Musgrove Works Three Innings Thursday
4 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Joe Musgrove allowed two runs on four hits and a walk and was victimized by shaky defense in his Cactus League start against Cleveland on Thursday. "I actually felt a little better today with my delivery, my timing," Musgrove said. "The results weren't the same, but I attribute that to a little bit of poor execution on some of the two-strike pitches. But overall, I felt really good." The right-hander was the first Padres pitcher to work three innings this spring. Traded from the Pirates this offseason, the 28-year-old San Diego native and is once again a popular sleeper now that he's gone from perhaps baseball's worst team to one of the best teams in the majors. With a strikeout rate of 33.1 percent in 2020, Musgrove is a nice SP4 with upside this year.
