Mark Ingram II Reaches Agreement With Texans
4 years agoFormer Baltimore Ravens running back Mark Ingram II reached an agreement on a one-year deal worth up to $3 million with the Houston Texans on Thursday, according to a source. Ingram, 31, was released by the Ravens after he failed to play in five of the team's final six games in 2020. He was a healthy scratch during the postseason behind J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards. The former first-rounder in 2011 had a 1,000-yard season as recently as 2019 in the first of his two seasons in Baltimore, but he's not much more than a short-yardage/goal-line backup at this stage of his career. In 11 games last season, Ingram had 72 carries for 299 yards (4.2 yards per carry) and two touchdowns. He caught just six passes. With Duke Johnson no longer in town, Ingram may be David Johnson's primary backup in 2021.
