Deshaun Watson Remains Texans Quarterback
4 years agoHouston Texans new head coach David Culley continued to say on Thursday that quarterback Deshaun Watson, who has publicly demanded a trade, "is our starting quarterback as of right now." Culley expanded on his comments and said that "hopefully in the future" Watson will also remain as the team's starting QB. The new head coach also added that the team is "very committed to Deshaun as our quarterback. He's our quarterback." "There is no contingency plan," Culley told reporters. Neither side has budged yet, but the Texans may be forced to give in and trade the 25-year-old if he remains steadfast in his trade demands. A top-five fantasy quarterback, Watson could become slightly more attractive if he's traded and winds up in a more favorable situation. It is the biggest NFL story to watch with free agency approaching next week.
