4 years agoDetroit Tigers third baseman and top prospect Spencer Torkelson has had a rough start to his first spring training with the team. He's gone hitless in his first nine plate appearances with four strikeouts and two walks. The 21-year-old Torkelson, who is ranked No. 3 on MLB.com's Top 100 Prospects list, isn't expected to make the Tigers' opening day roster. There's a good chance he won't even make his MLB debut until 2022. The Tigers are still in the midst of their rebuild and don't have a great deal of incentive to rush Torkelson up to the big leagues.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
