Jorge Soler Looking To Bounce Back In 2021
4 years agoKansas City Royals designated hitter Jorge Soler had a disappointing season in 2020, slashing .228/.326/.443 with eight home runs and 24 RBI over 43 games. He struck out at a career-high rate (34.5%). The previous season, he was a fantasy stud, leading the American League with 48 home runs while tallying 117 RBI and slashing .265/.354/.569. Several of his advanced stats from 2020 aren't too far off from his breakout 2019 season, suggesting he maybe had some bad luck in 2020 or just needed a larger sample size for his numbers to increase. Soler had a career-high barrel rate of 18.9% in 2020, up from 16.6% in 2019. He also has a slight increase in his hard-hit rate from 50% in 2019 to 51.1% in 2020. While he'll certainly struggle with strikeouts and have some down stretches this year, he's a good bet to bounce back and hit around or over 40 home runs in 2021.
