Carter Kieboom Seeing Early Spring Results
4 years agoWashington Nationals third baseman Carter Kieboom worked on simplifying and fine-tuning his swing in the offseason after a disappointing 2020 season. The results are paying off early in spring training, as he went 2-for-3 with a pair of hits in his spring training debut, including stretching a misplayed deep fly ball to center field into a triple. The former top prospect had just two home runs, 19 runs scored and 11 RBI with a .181 batting average in 165 plate appearances last season. But Kieboom hit .303 with 16 home runs, 79 RBI and even five steals in his last full season in 2019 at Triple-A, so the 23-year-old could be a nice source of power at the hot corner if he can rebound in 2021. His spring debut was a good start.
